With the opening event that took place on 30 September in the Cankarjev dom club, CEED’s entrepreneurial network has started its 4th season of CEED programmes. The introductory address at the event entitled “The Boldness of Leadership – During Growth, the Crisis and While Having Coffee with Co-Workers” was delivered by the world-renowned expert in the management of change, Dr Ichak Adizes. Afterwards, two generations of entrepreneurs (veteran and young) shared their views on current issues.

| At the closing entrepreneurial event that took place on 29 June, the CEED Entrepreneurial Centre hosted prominent figures from the Slovenian entrepreneurial sphere, among them Bogdan Pušnik, Rudi Bric, Branko Drobnak and Zoran Janković. Sponsored by the Ljubljana Municipality, the attendees gathered at the Ljubljana Castle along with sixty-odd successful young entrepreneurs, all members of CEED’s education programme.

| CEED Regional Network Centers and Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF) organized CEED Regional Conference on June 5, 2009 in Belgrade, Serbia.
CEED was proud to provide in its 3rd Regional Conference Mr. Charles Leadbeater, a leading authority on innovation and creativity, a reputable advisor of companies, cities and governments around the world on innovation strategy and the author of the international bestseller “We think” on the subject of collaborative innovation and how it can be catalyzed and managed to fuel the company’s growth.

| On Thursday, 19 March, an interesting CEED event took place, this time in partnership with the RGS Kapital Company and the Technology Park Ljubljana and in collaboration with Start:up Slovenija: the third consecutive Elevator Pitch or how to present oneself to investors in one minute.

| On Thursday, 19 February, the founder of the Studio Moderna Company shared with us his vision of the concept of integrated solutions. Mr Sandi Češko has, in his own words, always been a rebel, as he could never really come to terms with the things that were supposed to be taken for granted. He wanted to disassemble them, understand and make something better and different. Even today, this visionary spirit still pushes him forward.

| CEED Romania participated to the event “Challenges and Opportunities during an economic downturn - a practical guide in the Romanian market”, held on February 12, 2009. The event’s main components included presentations and a business fair.

| The participants in this event had an opportunity to get more information and to expand their knowledge from three experts as guest speakers on this event: Ms. Lidija Nanus – Delloite, Mr. Dragan Dimitrov – Stater Bank and Mr. Dejan Kalinikov – SEAF Macedonia.

The consulting company Depro Inovatie together with the Romanian Fund for Social Development, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development (CEED Romania) and the Association AMFAR Galitia are building a better future for women participating to the project with the same title, co-financed by the European Union.

The third training for the second generation of Top Class participants “Human resources and Team management” was held on January 22, 2009 in the Diplomatic Hall of Skopje Fair, Skopje. Guest speakers on this event were: Ms. Jelica Ivanovska, HR – Jonson Controls, Mr. Polikarp Arsenovski – Wrigley Representative Office Skopje and Mr. Toni Petreski - INet, Skopje.

| On Wednesday, 7 January, the Atrium Club of Ljubljana’s Mons Hotel hosted a special evening, organised by CEED Slovenia: the mentors of the new generation of the Top Class Programme first met with their mentorees for 2009.

| On 18 December 2008, the last CEED event before the New Year was held at the premises of the Hermes SoftLab Company, which presented an excellent best practice case on how to successfully implement the internationalisation of a high-tech company.

| CEED Macedonia, the official Cisco Entrepreneur Institute Training Center for Macedonia and YES Incubator, the first Local Institute, in cooperation with the Municipality of Gazi Baba, have started a joint project for training of the unemployed people from Gazi Baba in business and entrepreneurial skills. The project is co-financed by the USAID Macedonian Local Governance Activity Project.

| FX3X, Market Vision, Donitex and Republika are the companies awarded as the best entrepreneurs of the year 2008. Beside the statuette, the best entrepreneurs will receive award – voucher that can be used for advertising and promotion, in value of 2.000 euro for the first place, and 1.000 euro for the second place.

| The objective of this training event was to enable the participants in the Top Class program to exchange experiences with other managers and professionals who have experience in creation and implementation of business strategies, as well as to discuss the benefits of using this tool.
